We were flattered when some friends approached us to see if we'd be willing to help with an idea they had for their half bath. Their custom home is gorgeous, so to ask us for help is a total compliment!
With three kids, they found that the flat paint in their half bath was not holding up. Water marks on the walls, they came up with a solution: shiplap! I agree that the trim paint on shiplap should make for an easier wipe down and should repel water better than a flat paint on sheetrock.
A question remained: wallpaper. They purchased wallpaper awhile back that they'd like to use, but are wondering:
shiplap all walls, floor to ceiling?
shiplap 3/4 of the wall (all walls), no wallpaper?
shiplap 3/4 of the wall (all walls) and add wallpaper 1/4 of wall?
Do these options make sense? We left the conversation thinking shiplap 3/4 of the wall, wallpaper remaining 1/4 of the wall and if they don't like it, add shiplap later- easy fix.
